There are many ways to play the chords we have learned. So far we have only strummed the chords, where we play most or all of the strings at once with the pick.
This page demonstrates a new musical concept known as broken chords. Notice that these shapes are made up of basic chords we have learned in previous lessons, but this time we are not strumming the chords. Instead, we are picking from string-to-string much slower, slow enough that we can hear each string clearly.
